is inherent meaning in every form, be it abstract or representational.
I am currently using wire and
paint to create forms and color relationships that are likened
to cognitive and abstract ideas that allude to the collective
unconscious. Existing examples of this are natural physical phenomena
such as photosynthesis, the movement of energy and the space
it occupies, the scientific discovery of the atom being nearly
99.9% empty. The notion of the space referred to as “the
ether,” telepathy, clairvoyance, and coincidence are less
immersion, and displacement are used to thrust the viewer out
of their usual sense of space. Through a shift
in perception, immersion into my abstraction of what the physical
manifestation of the energy network might be like is possible.
Bright colors create a visually stimulating environment that
heightens the visual experience and perception. Constructing
forms with wire allows a maximum amount of volume with the least
amount of material, therefore existing as tenuously as possible.
Painted wire acts like drawn lines that form visually permeable
volumes and barriers in an attempt to talk about knowing that
the unknown exists.
